Community Corner

Have you or a close loved one been incarcerated? Do you want to develop skills to leverage your experience to tear down the prison industry? You’re in the right place.

We created three unique ways for community members directly impacted by incarceration to engage with The Curriculum course.

  • Fellows Program: We selected a small group of Senior Fellows, Fellows, and Youth Fellows for our paid Community Learning Course. Fellows were guided through the course by Worth Rises staff, provided additional public speaking and persuasive writing training, and received support in writing opinion editorials.

  • Discussion Forum: We created a private discussion forum for directly impacted community members to study and discuss course content together.

  • Prison Mailers: With the help of Ameelio, we mailed the course content, including the reading and discussion questions, to roughly 1,000 people in prison each week. We encourage community members to also mail the content to their loved ones inside.

our fellows

We received over 400 applications for our Spring semester of the The Curriculum! We were blown away by the volume of interest in the program, and were excited to welcome our inaugural Senior Fellows, Fellows, and Youth Fellows. Our fellows completed The Curriculum with the help of Worth Rises staff and received public speaking and persuasive writing training.
