So, who’s invested in the prison industry after all? Well, there are certainly some big bad actors, but the truth is that we all are. Our consumer banks, retirement accounts, public pensions, university endowments, charitable foundations, and still other institutions that we hold dear are all invested in the prison industry through both public and private equity and debt investments. It’s time we stop investing in caging and control and, instead, resourcing our communities.
