Boston March Against Cages

  • Boston Public Library 700 Boylston Street Boston, MA, 02116 United States (map)

The American Correctional Association (ACA) annual conference is in Boston August 1-6 and we’re marching to expose their injustices to the public.

The ACA is the largest accreditor of prisons, ICE facilities, jails, and concentration camp administrators. Their annual conference is the belly of the beast where thousands of guards, wardens, ICE/Border Patrol, jailers, weapons companies, prison profiteers and more gather to make connections and build bonds. It is one of the clearest manifestations of the prison industrial complex in the country.

As abolitionists, we recognize such accrediting bodies lend legitimacy to unconscionable abuses such as institutionalized sexual violence, toxic water, extreme heat and cold, and much more. Wherever the ACA goes, abolitionists will gather to confront and hold them accountable for their role in holding up the atrocities of caging our fellow human beings.
